In the first tournament of the 2019-20 season, Fishers Baja recorded an impressive 2nd place finish against much more experienced college and club teams in a one-day tournament hosted by Butler University on October 12th.
In pool play, Baja posted wins against Huntington University and Liquid Hustle (mixed club) before dropping the next game to IUPUI.
The highlight of the day came in the semifinal round. Down 7-2 at the half, Baja launched an epic 8-2 run to claim victory on universe point, with a final score of 10-9.
In the final, the fifth straight game of the day, Baja was no real match for men’s club team 8-Bit Defenders. Despite the lopsided 13-2 score, both teams provided an excellent example of ultimate’s unique Spirit of the Game and a good time was had by all.
